Aladdin’s opens newest Northeast Ohio location in Medina, marking 35 total restaurants
CLEVELAND, Ohio — Aladdin’s Eatery has opened its Medina location, marking 35 locations in total serving its Lebanese-Mediterranean cuisine. Aladdin’s in Medina is open at 951 N. Court Street as of July 31. Just this year, the restaurant’s flagship location in Lakewood at 14536 Detroit Road celebrated 30 years in business.
FBI investigating lasers being pointed at aircrafts in Toledo area
TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) - The FBI is investigating instances of someone pointing lasers at planes in the Toledo area, officials said. According to the U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Ohio, it’s happened multiple times. The agency said on Tuesday someone has pointed a green laser at aircraft in the area, with several being pointed at a life flight.

FIDF Ohio chapter part of Israel visit, provides ‘connection’ post-Oct. 7
About 30 people involved with the Central Region of the Friends of the Israel Defense Forces took a mission trip to Israel from June 23 through June 27. When creating the itinerary and goals for the trip, the FIDF thought about how it could best share the stories from Oct. 7, 2023, when Hamas launched a surprise attack on Israel, and help people understand that this is a historical time, Tamir Oppenheim, vice president of the central region of the FIDF, told the Columbus Jewish News July 17. The same itinerary has been used four times and is planned to be used again later this year. The Central Region of the group includes the Ohio, Michigan, Illinois and Dallas chapters.

The Congruity HR NHRA Pro Mod Drag Racing Series presented by LearnEV was noticeably absent from the Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Nationals at Summit Motorsports Park this past June. The Norwalk, Ohio, facility has been a Midwest hotbed for Pro Modified racing for many years, and not racing there this season didn’t sit right with some racers in the series. Doug Winters was one of those drivers who missed out on a trip to Norwalk, and after discussions with track owner Bill Bader Jr., Winters found a way to bring NHRA Pro Mods to “America’s Racetrack” after all.
