The Marietta Sixth Grade Academy has been named a “School of Distinction” by the Association for Middle Level Education, joining just 17 schools honored nationwide.

“We are honored to be acknowledged among such a distinguished group of schools. This award is a reflection of the hard work and dedication of our entire school community,” said MSGA Principal Keynun Campbell. “At Marietta Sixth Grade Academy, we strive to create an environment where every student is encouraged to think critically, embrace their unique learning journey, and achieve their fullest potential. This recognition strengthens our commitment to nurturing individual growth and cultivating a love for learning that extends beyond the classroom.”

According to the AMLE’s website, MSGA was recognized for several of its key practices, including Club Wednesday, district-supported transition events for rising sixth graders and student-led conferences. AMLE’s evaluation process included interviews with students, staff and families.

MSGA leaders will be recognized for and give a presentation on their practices at the 51st Annual Conference for Middle-Level Education, which will take place in Nashville this November.

Families can learn more about the school and meet staff during the MSGA’s Open House Night on Thursday, August 29, from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
