Events happening over the weekend in Pacific Grove
PACIFIC GROVE, Calif. — The Youth Ambassadors of Pacific Grove, a leadership and public service organization, are supporting three events on July 26th and 27th. The first of the events is the Pet Parade. Participating pets and owners should line up at Caledonia Park at 1:30 p.m. The parade will start at 2 p.m., beginning at Congress Avenue, going down Lighthouse Avenue and making a U-turn at Forest Avenue.
Complaints about flight noise around the Monterey Regional Airport have inspired activism.
For years, some residents in Del Rey Oaks, Monterey and elsewhere have complained about airplane noise from flights taking off or landing at Monterey Regional Airport. Some of those complaints arose after the Federal Aviation Administration, which regulates all the flights coming to or leaving the airport, implemented in 2015 its “NextGen” technology at the facility, part of a nationwide effort to modernize how the agency manages federal airspace.
