Santa Monica-Malibu Unified School District announces its policy to serve nutritious meals every school day under the National School Lunch Program, School Breakfast Program, and/or Afterschool Snack Program. GHS wins 3 of 4 in Lynwood Passing Invitational
After its best season in nearly a half of century last fall, Gardena High’s football team is gearing for this fall by playing in several passing leagues and invitationals. Last Saturday, the Panthers vied in the Lynwood five-team Invitational where it won three games and lost one. Gardena recorded wins over Hawthorne, Lynwood and Lynwood Firebaugh and lost to Compton.
North (Torrance) beats CCHS in passing tourney
The Culver City High School varsity passing league football tournament started at 9 a.m. last Saturday with 14 very competitive schools varying for the championship. When it was all over Saturday afternoon North Torrance walked away with the championship trophy after they beat Culver City five touchdowns to four. Passing tournaments feature quarterbacks, receivers, defensive backs and linebackers.

The William S. Hart Union High School District Governing Board unanimously approved the appointment of Susan Kim as the newest assistant principal at West Ranch High School. Kim completed her undergraduate studies at the University of California at Berkeley in Berkeley, CA. She received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in 2006. In May of 2011, she received her Master’s Degree in Teaching from the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, CA. She began her educational career in Fort Worth ISD and taught in Dallas ISD and Plano ISD. She then served in the role as an LPAC (English Proficiency) Compliance Coordinator for Dallas ISD.
