A large group of pro-Palestinian demonstrators marched across the UCLA campus on Monday and announced their intention to set up an encampment.

According to KCAL News , some of the demonstrators were seen carrying what appeared to be fake bodies on makeshift gurneys, while others had what looked like dismembered body parts.

The group reportedly gathered around a fountain outside Royce Hall, and dozens were seen setting up tents.

News contributor for the Daily Bruin, Sam Mulick , told KNX News that the protestors gathered supplies from a U-Hall, set up fences and tents at Dickson Plaza , and dyed Wilson fountain red.

He said protesters could be heard chanting the names of those who have died as a result of the war in Gaza, saying, "They will not die in vain."

At about 4 p.m. a group of police officers were reported to be gathering near the protest.

According to the the Daily Bruin , the UCPD and UCLA administration quickly deemed the encampment unlawful.

As KNX News' Pete Demetriou reported from the scene, at around 6 p.m., the group was given 10 minutes to disperse or face arrest.

Shortly after the order was given, the group dismantled their tents,
removed materials from the plaza and began walking away.

There were no immediate reports of any arrests or injuries.
