Charity, enthusiasm, cherry pies and ugly cakes recognized at Fremont County Fair
SIDNEY, IA - Charitable giving, 4-H enthusiasm, a cherry pie dynasty and the ugliest cake were all recognized Saturday at the Fremont County Fair in Sidney, Ia. The giving included the 4-H program fees for 86 Fremont County members and a $1,100 bid for the fair’s top cherry pie.
Bedford, Lenox, Martensdale-St. Marys athletes named unanimous All-POI baseball
(KMAland) -- Bedford, Lenox and Martensdale-St. Marys athletes have been honored as unanimous All-Pride of Iowa Conference first team baseball choices. Bedford’s Klemit Olney, Lenox’s Dawson Evans and Martensdale-St. Marys’ Travis White were the only three unanimous choices on the team at pitcher, infield and infield, respectively. Other first team honors went to Laramie Stoaks (P), Gabe Funk (OF) and Carter Reed (UTL) of Lenox, Mount Ayr’s Preston Fleharty (C) and Adler Reed (IF), East Union’s Seth Hudson (P) and Austin Lack (IF), Martensdale-St. Marys’ Jaxson Bowlin (P), Jason Fugate (OF) and William Denny (UTL) and Southeast Warren’s Drake Steil (OF).
