The Indiana Office of Utility Consumer Counselor (OUCC) is recommending a 60% reduction in Duke Energy's request, including no increase to the monthly residential customer service charge and a reduction in Duke Energy's authorized return on equity.

Missing Will County Woman’s Car Found in Kankakee County near Hunting Area
Wilmington, IL – Wilmington police are urgently seeking public assistance in locating Jennifer Tannhauser, 41, who has been missing for a week. On July 10, 2024, at approximately 4:45 p.m., authorities received a report of a missing woman from Fulton St. in Wilmington, who was reportedly experiencing a mental health crisis. Despite an extensive search of Wilmington and surrounding areas, officers were unable to locate her.
Wing eating contest registration to open for Wings and Wheels event at Decatur Airport
June 16, 2024 – Registration for the Wing eating contest at the Wings and Wheels event at the Decatur Airport will open Thursday at 10am. The Wing Eating contest is open for up to 48 contestants to compete in the preliminaries on Saturday. Heats will be held at 2pm, 3:30pm, 5pm and 6:30pm. The top two finishers from each heat will go on to complete in the finals on Sunday at 5pm. Bloomington tells homeless people sleeping along Constitution Trail to relocate
Around 100 people in Bloomington-Normal are unsheltered, according to estimates from a McLean County Housing Coalition. The City of Bloomington is dispersing roughly 40 of them who’ve been living in tents along Constitution Trail, said Director of Community Outreach Steve Tassio with Home Sweet Home Ministries' homeless shelter [HSHM].
Decatur Family YMCA to host Backpack Attack with free school supplies Aug 3rd
July 16, 2024 – The Decatur Family YMCA will host their annual Backpack Attack event on Saturday, August 3, 2024, from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm. During the event, 2,000 school supply-filled backpacks will be handed out to students entering kindergarten through 6th grade. Students need to be present to pick out their backpacks.
Body of 6-year-old boy recovered from Kankakee River
The body of a 6-year-old boy was recovered from the Kankakee River late Tuesday afternoon, hours after he fell into the river from a dock, according to officials. According to Kankakee mayor Chris Curtis, the boy fell off a dock at 1600 Cobb Boulevard at approximately 3:08 p.m., with rescue efforts beginning shortly afterwards.
