According to the Marshall Police Department, they received reports about a kitten stuck in a drain near Highway 59 and Houston on Thursday. Animal control and the fire department attempted to pinpoint the kitten’s location but ran into difficulties.
Afterwards, Friends of Marshall Animals, a nonprofit shelter, set a trap with food to try and successfully rescue the kitten, the department said.
Marshall PD said at around 2:30 a.m. a patrol was on the scene after another animal complaint. Stormy was found in the trap and was rescued by a Marshall PD officer that “bravely entered” the storm drain.

“This rescue was a fantastic example of community effort, showcasing the power of teamwork and determination,” Marshall PD said. “Thank you to everyone involved for making this heartwarming rescue possible.”
The police department said Stormy will soon be heading to their new home after a check-up at the Marshall Pet Adoption Center.
