County officially takes over Columbia Falls doughnut

KALISPELL, Mont. - The Northwest Montana Fair announced Tuesday that the famous Beach Boys will perform at the fair on August 13. "The Beach Boys are one of the most critically acclaimed and commercially successful bands of all time, with over 100 million records sold worldwide. Between the 1960s and today, the group had over 80 songs chart worldwide," a release from the fair states.

Whitefish Council approves strongly contested airport hangar
The Whitefish City Council on Monday approved a conditional use permit for a 5,400 square-foot hangar at the Whitefish airport despite robust public opposition.Only three of the 17 citizens who commented at the council meeting were in favor of the building project on the grass landing strip east of town. The opposition pointed to the loss of the viewshed, increased noise and the possibility of more development at the airport.
