Roger Jacobs Inducted into Hall of Fame
Roger Jacobs, of Billings, Montana, was inducted into the Livestock Marketeers Hall of Fame on May 29, alongside Darryl Rahn, of Virginia, Illinois. Jacobs has dedicated nearly 50 years to the livestock industry through his time as a regional manager and field rep for the American Angus Association (AAA) and the Angus Journal, and most notably, as an auctioneer.
Laurel's Fourth of July parade brings out the crowds
Thousands of people, decked out in red, white and blue, lined Main Street for the annual Fourth of July parade in Laurel on Thursday. Led by the Grand Marshal Jodi Mackay, of Molly & Friends, the parade featured dozens of floats, and first-responder and police and sheriff vehicles. Parade-goers were lined up for hours before the start of the parade at 11 a.m.

Boyd Family Shows Pride In Country Through Their Service
When Americans celebrate their independence on the Fourth of July, the commitment of those dedicated men and women who served in the military should always be remembered. If people wish to salute a family for being true Americans, they wouldn’t have to look any farther than David Boyd Sr. of the Fort Peck Reservation. The Poplar resident, who served for 31 years as a staff sergeant, can list the service done by various family members including his father, uncles, brothers and grandchildren.
Blount Enjoys Bringing Fireworks To Community
The bigger than ever fireworks’ display in Wolf Point is occurring on Thursday, July 4, thanks to the support of area businesses, organizations and individuals. “Last year, we set the record and this year, we beat last year’s record,” organizer George “Mr. Fourth of July” Blount said. “The fireworks went up in price because of inflation, but we have great community support.”

The long-anticipated 40-Mile Yard Sale that is becoming an annual favorite, finally arrived this Friday, along with an unexpected cool and wet front that threatened to put a damper on things. But these are hearty Montanans, and what's a little weather?! The 3-day event again featured garage sales from Wolf Creek to Ulm and places in between; and the weather did finally cooperate. Everybody's already planning for next year. Bring on the snow!
Hornets Win Championship Of Minor Baseball League
The Hornets fought off the Fox Ford team, 16-10, in Wolf Point’s Minor League baseball championship game on Wednesday, June 26. A two-run home run by Matthew Nasner helped Fox Ford take a 4-3 lead in the game’s opening inning. Fox Ford increased its advantage to 9-5 in the second inning.
