The Fiesta Celebration of Latin Culture Along Lakeshore Continues
HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM, July 17, 2024) – What began six decades ago as just a local celebration of a Mexican holiday has grown to much, much more. The week-long Fiesta festivities continue on Friday night with a two-hour concert in the Kollen Park bandshell at 6:30 PM, followed by a day-long celebration of Latin culture on Saturday at the Heeringa Holland Civic Center Place, starting at 11:30 AM, and a Sunday Car Show at the 8th Street Marketplace parking lots. These events follow a Monday film, a Tuesday symposium, a Wednesday Holland Farmers Market kids activities, and street performers along 8th Street downtown on Thursday.

Chalk the Walk Returns to Windmill Island Gardens This Weekend
Visit Windmill Island Gardens this Saturday, July 20 from 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm for the second annual Chalk the Walk event! Artists of all ages are invited to spend the day creating artwork and decorating the park’s walkways with chalk creations and can even enjoy some free frozen treats! As part of the event, visitors can watch professional artist Hallie LeBlanc of Abundance Mobile Art Studio create 6 large chalk pieces drawn live, all inspired by our summer garden theme, ‘In Living Color’. LeBlanc’s drawings will highlight various kinds of colorful life that can be found all throughout the park from bugs to flowers to birds to amphibians!
