Martinsville Common Council talks salary increases
MARTINSVILLE — The Martinsville Common Council met Monday evening to discuss giving itself a raise. The July 22 meeting had a handful of new business items, but at the top of the list was a public hearing regarding the salaries of elected officials and certain appointed officials. No one from the public spoke, and so the issue will be raised again at the council’s Aug. 12 meeting.
Monrovia debates merits of town manager position
MONROVIA — The Monrovia town council had one item to discuss at its special meeting last week — what to do about the town manager position. The day before, July 16, was town manager Danny Chenault’s last day on the job, having tendered his resignation earlier in the month. It was not made clear at the meeting why Chenault resigned, and he did not respond to requests for comment.
