Indiana Attorney General Leads 17-State Coalition Defending Ex-Brownsburg Teacher's Religious Rights Against Pronoun Policy
Attorney General Todd Rokita is forging an alliance with counterparts in 17 states, taking a stance on what he views as the protection of religious liberty in the workplace. The case centers around John Kluge, a former Brownsburg High School teacher whose resignation was prompted by the school's demand he adhere to using the preferred pronouns of transgender students, a requirement conflicting with his personal beliefs. According to an official report from the State of Indiana, Rokita and the other attorneys general are urging the 7th Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals to overrule a lower court's decision which held that accommodating Kluge's religious convictions posed an "undue hardship" for the school.

A diagnosis of diabetes increases the risk of heart disease, stroke, kidney disease and even death. The School of Public Health at Indiana University-Indianapolis is close to completing a project to improve the health of three neighborhoods. The Diabetes Impact Project works in the Northeast, near Northwest, and Near West neighborhoods in Indianapolis, where rates of diabetes are almost double other parts of Marion County.

Patriot Park playground removal begins July 22, 2024
Last Updated on July 21, 2024 by Cass County Communication Network. SOURCE: News release from Logansport Parks and Recreation Department. The Logansport Parks & Recreation Department has announced that removal of the Patriot Park Playground will begin starting the week of July 22nd. The current playground which was originally built in 2002, will be removed, except for the swings. The work is scheduled to be completed by the end of the week. All demolition work is weather permitting.
