Goins hopeful park can reopen safely
Alton’s Gordon Moore Park would typically be busy during the weekend with baseball, softball, soccer and golf, but it’s quiet today thanks to a sinkhole that formed a month ago. The hole formed under the turf fields near the park entrance, forcing the city to close the entire park to the public for a full safety inspection underground.

O’FALLON, Ill. (First Alert 4) - A minor earthquake was reported early Saturday just southwest of O’Fallon, Illinois. The United States Geological Survey reports the 2.4 magnitude quake happened at 1:50 a.m. Saturday about one kilometer south, southwest of O’Fallon. The epicenter was reported at a depth of 0.3 kilometers.
