A Maryville man has been arrested after allegedly threatening the safety of his baby. According to a Blount County Sheriff’s Office report, deputies responded to a domestic disturbance call at 6:08 p.m. June 27. The caller advised deputies the disturbance was taking place at Lorraine Lane, Maryville.

Dispatch told deputies the man said everyone would die if law enforcement showed up.

When deputies arrived at the caller’s residence, they spoke with a 20-year-old Maryville woman who told them her fiance, Chad O’Neal England, 39, was at the house where they both lived with an 8-month-old baby. Deputies described the woman as “visibly scared.”

The woman was on speakerphone with England and told him he needed to bring the baby to her mother’s house. She told him that she didn’t think the baby was safe with him, to which England replied, “He’s safe unless you call the cops on me,” the report stated.

During the call, the woman also stated that England tried to take her phone multiple times, which England admitted over the phone. The woman also said that England took her car keys away. She said during the struggle over the phone, she fell and England straddled her and held her against her will.

The woman told deputies that England’s brother, Daniel C. England, 38, was also at the residence trying to calm Chad England. While on the phone with Chad England, the woman accused him of grabbing her neck, which England admitted.

The woman told deputies she had a video on her phone that showed Chad England telling her everyone would die if police showed up at the residence. She said the video also showed him aggressively pulling the baby away from her.

When deputies arrived at the residence where England was keeping the baby, they ordered him out of the residence.

The report states that Chad England exited the house with the baby in his hands and refused to put the baby down while he was being held at gunpoint by multiple deputies.

Eventually, he complied with deputies and both Chad and Daniel England were held at gunpoint until they were handcuffed.

Chad England was arrested and charged with false imprisonment, domestic violence with aggravated assault, interference with emergency calls and child endangerment.
