Man threatens woman because she didn’t have any cigarettes
MASON COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A man was arrested after threatening to shoot a woman because she didn’t have any cigarettes. On Wednesday, July 17, 2024, at 1:05 AM, Control 911 dispatched me regarding threats to a Point Pleasant, Mason County, WV home. Control informed police that the defendant was outside a woman’s residence, threatening to shoot her with a 12-gauge shotgun over cigarettes.
First Alert Traffic | Part of Route 2 closed after crash
MASON COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) - Both lanes of state Route 2 are shut down Wednesday night in Glenwood in Mason County after a single-vehicle crash. Firefighters at the scene say the driver went off the road and crashed into a pole, bringing down power lines. It happened around 7 p.m. Wednesday near the Cabell County line.
Marshall adding rural psychiatry program
HUNTINGTON — Marshall University has announced that 113 residents will enter the School of Medicine’s residency program next year alongside a new rural psychiatry program. Of the 113, four residents will be part of the new rural psychiatry program, which will help meet the needs of Mason County through a partnership with Rivers Health, said Paulette Wehner, vice dean for medical education at Marshall’s School of Medicine.
