Kansas high schooler wins National Clay Target Championship

MASON, Mich. (KSNW) — Brody Lenington of Cedar Vale-Dexter High School has been named national champion following the 2024 USA High School Clay Target League National Championship.

Lenington and his teammates were among 454 schools that competed in the championship, which was held July 10-14 in Mason, Michigan . The organization says Lenington scored a 97 in the qualifying round, scored a perfect 100 tying for 14 other competitors, and then hit 55 targets without a miss, taking the top spot.

Hunter Prockish from Rock Creek High School in St. George, northeast Kansas, placed 7th, and Audrey Jones from Bishop Carroll High School in Wichita placed 5th in the female division. In the team’s division, Chaparral High School placed 3rd, Bishop Carroll placed 4th, and Cedar Vale-Dexter High School placed 5th.
