Mystic Rock's 11th hole offers deceptive view and trouble from the tee
WHARTON TOWNSHIP, Pa. (KDKA) -- There aren't many better Par 5's than the 11th hole at Nemacolin's Mystic Rock, which presents trouble off of the tee with deceiving views of the green. The 11th hole can play as long as 634 yards and is unique because of the numbers of facets that make up the layout. "There's several different ways Pete Dye played with your mind here a little bit," said Chris Anderson, Director of Golf at Nemacolin Woodlands Resort. "A lot of Pete Dye designs, he likes to give you the visual of the green from the tee shot. If you're...

Anchor Drop: 41 Days to Kickoff
Enjoy your Open Championship Sunday. Good morning. Optional Musical Accompaniment We are now 41 days away from Vanderbilt football’s season opener against Virginia Tech. 41 for the Commodores is wide receiver Jamezell Lassiter. The 5’8”, 185-pound freshman from Providence, Rhode Island, doesn’t even have a bio on the team site, so I can only assume he’s a walk-on. (Pictured above: Zach Cunningham, because of course. Remember when the team’s best player wore 41 instead of insisting on a single-digit number?) I don’t really have anything today; it’s Sunday at the Open Championship after a classic Open Championship Saturday where it...
