MASSILLON – A resident is again calling for a city councilman to be disciplined for actions he deems as intimidating to himself and his wife.
David McCune reaffirmed his request Monday night for City Council to censure Councilman Mike Snee, R-Ward 6, for showing up unannounced at his residence June 29 to question a series of Facebook messages about public safety at Massillon and McKinley football games.

"This is a rogue council member who fancies himself a bully," McCune told the body during the public speaks portion of Monday's meeting.
McCune, a Democrat, ran against Snee last fall for the Ward 6 seat.

Snee did not publicly respond to McCune's comments at the meeting. He told The Independent afterwards that proper security at Massillon-McKinley football games was his main point to discuss with McCune.
Snee referenced the 134th matchup between the teams, in which a scuffle broke out during postgame handshakes .
"I care about people and their safety. If (people) disagree with me – oh, well," Snee said. "I don't want to see anyone get hurt at a game."
On July 1, McCune first spoke to City Council about the encounter with Snee at his Winslow Avenue NW home. Snee was out of town and absent from that meeting.
McCune alleged Snee verbally harassed him and his wife, Shirley, during the June 29 episode, lasting several minutes from his porch. Police were not called.
The Independent obtained a police report last week stating that Shirley McCune spoke with an officer July 4 at the Police Department regarding the matter. The report says nothing about charges filed.
City Council has not addressed the issue publicly.
