Blaney Wins First of Season at Sharon
HARTFORD, OH – Sharon Speedway was able to complete its fourth consecutive program during the month of July as sunshine and hot temps greeted race fans and teams on Saturday night for the annual “Bill Kirila Memorial”. Celebrating in the Hovis Auto & Truck Supply victory lane for the “Super Series” program presented by Bala Management were Dale Blaney (Hovis Auto & Truck Supply “410” Sprint Cars), Jordan Perkins (Gibson Insurance Agency Pro Stocks), Kole Holden (HTMA/Precise Racing Products RUSH Sportsman Modifieds), and Joe Gabrielson (Whelen Econo Mods presented by Alcon Mechanical). It was Bucks Fabricating and Mark Thomas Ford Night.
Krummert Continues Winning Ways in Big Block Modifieds at Mercer
MERCER, PA – On a beautiful sunny warm late July, Saturday Michaels Mercer Raceway was able to complete its fourth show of the year. Along with autograph night for the racesaver 305s and the big block modifieds, Garrett Krummert continued his winning ways in ‘24 by winning the big block modified feature; Rod Jones hopped into his son Roman’s racesaver 305 sprint and picked up his first sprint car win in nearly 20 years; Eric Gabany returned to victory Lane for the first time since 2022 in the 602 crate modifieds; Tim Callahan won his 21st career mini stock feature; the PA thunder on the dirt vintage modifieds were on hand as well with a great turnout with former late model racer Wally Stock winning the modified portion and Vincenzo Fiollo won the sportsman mod. The entire show was completed by 11:02.

Top swimmers compete in league championship
The Paris Olympics isn't the only event with swimming competition. The Youngstown Swim League held their championships Saturday at the Applewood Swim & Tennis Club. More than 100 swimmers, ages 6-18 competed in the meet and came from Applewood Swim & Tennis Club, Boardman Tennis and Swim Club, Poland Swim Club, Firestone Swim Club, Warren Olympic and various country clubs.

STRUTHERS OH- Saturday afternoon at Bob Cene Park, Avalanche cruised to an 11-1 victory over East Coast MI. Jack Strausser led the way with two hits, including a double, an RBI, and a run. Bennett Hayne chipped in with two hits, an RBI, and two runs. Noah Philson had two hits, including a double, and scored twice. Grayson Eicher was hot at the plate, racking up three hits, three RBIs, and a run.
