Pretenders Barnstorm Ohio: Set Lists, Videos
The Pretenders tore through Ohio this week with two headlining shows in Chrissie Hynde's hometown and an opening set in front of a baseball stadium full of Foo Fighters fans. The trip began with a return to Akron for two sold-out nights at the Goodyear Theater. As you can see below, Hynde posted a photo of herself in front of her childhood home on social media Tuesday morning, the day of the first show.
Biking across Ohio to raise money for cancer support group
CINCINNATI (WKRC) - A few hundred people biked across Ohio to support people fighting cancer. More than 70,000 people in Ohio are diagnosed with cancer every year. The Pan Ohio Hope Ride has set out to raise $1 million dollars for an organization called Hope Lodges, which provides housing for cancer patients going through treatment.

STRUTHERS OH- Sunday afternoon at Bob Cene Park, Dura Edge took the NABF Senior Division Championship with a 16-9 victory over Avalanche. Jacob Rynd contributed two hits, an RBI, and scored twice. Alex Zordich added two hits, an RBI, and a run, while Alex Eusebio had a double, a triple, an RBI, and scored twice.
AVALANCHE WIN OFFENSIVE BOUT WITH ATHLETIX
STRUTHERS OH- In a high-scoring semifinal at the NABF Senior Division World Series, Avalanche took down Athletix 16-12. Carter Dejulia had a monster game with four hits, including a double, driving in seven runs and scoring three times. Jack Strausser chipped in with two hits, three RBIs, and two runs. Jason Malley smashed two doubles, bringing in five runs. Noah Philson and Grayson Eicher each added two hits, with Eicher scoring five times and driving in one.

Sentencing set Monday for triggerman in Rowan Sweeney murder
The convicted triggerman in the shooting death of a Struthers 4-year-old boy will be sentenced Monday afternoon. Twenty-one-year-old Brandon Lee Crump Jr. is scheduled to appear before Mahoning County Common Pleas Court Judge Anthony D’Apolito at 2:30 p.m. for sentencing on charges of three counts of aggravated murder, four counts of attempted murder, four counts of felonious assault, burglary, robbery, and conspiracy.

Grand Champion and Reserve Champion cheesemakers were selected on Thursday, July 18 at the 2024 Ohio State Fair Cheese Contest held at Miceli Dairy Products in Cleveland. The American Dairy Association Mideast, who coordinated the event, is pleased to announce that Pearl Valley Cheese of Fresno, took top honors, receiving the overall Grand Champion award for their Swiss cheese. Guggisberg Cheese of Millersburg, Ohio, received the overall Reserve Champion award for their Ziller.
