The National Museum of the Great Lakes will host its Yoga by the Boat series on four Saturday mornings, starting this week.

The classes from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. will also be held July 27, Aug. 10, and Aug. 24 and have instructors from Parting Clouds Yoga in Maumee leading participants in performing yoga poses and mindful breathing exercises in front of the museum’s waterfront scene, the museum said.

The museum encourages yoga enthusiasts of all skill levels to participate in the classes. The cost is $15 for each class.

“We love offering these outdoor classes,” said Ashley Streichert, marketing and communications manager for the museum. “It's a way to bring our gorgeous landscape into use with a fun, fitness twist.”

After class, participants will be offered admission into the museum and its museum ships for discounted rates: $2 off admission per ticket or $5 off any membership.

Registration is required and available at nmgl.org/events .
