Man convicted of 2016 Lafayette double murder sentenced to life
LAFAYETTE, La. (KADN) — The man convicted in May of killing two people back in 2016 has been formally sentenced by a judge to life in prison. Joshua Willis was found guilty on May 2 of one count of first-degree murder of Ashley Metz and one count of second-degree murder of Brooklynn Hill.
St. Martin Parish Sheriff's Office reports three drug-related arrests
The St. Martin Parish Sheriff's Office made three separate arrests last week, leading to the seizure of a large amount of drugs. Jared Helaire, 33, of Breaux Bridge, was arrested June 25 after a search warrant was performed on his home in the 1100 block of Hebert Avenue in connection with an ATM robbery in Terrebonne Parish, according to the St. Martin Parish Sheriff's Office.

Suspects Arrested for Intentionally Setting Vehicle on Fire
LAFAYETTE, LA (July 2, 2024) – Lafayette firefighters responded to a vehicle fire at Eagle Run Apartments, 810 South College Drive, on Wednesday, June 19, 2024, at 12:57 a.m. When firefighters arrived, one vehicle was fully involved in the parking lot. The flames were spreading to two adjacent vehicles. After the fire was extinguished, three vehicles sustained fire damage.
