    Man wanted in connection with robbery, shooting in Robeson County

    ROBESON COUNTY, N.C. (WBTW) — Robeson County authorities are looking for a man wanted in connection with a July 2 robbery and shooting that injured one person.

    ​James “Boo Boo” Earl Chavis, Jr., 35, of Maxton, is facing charges of attempted first-degree murder, assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury, robbery with a dangerous weapon, first-degree kidnapping, second-degree kidnapping, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, according to the Robeson County Sheriff’s Office.

    The shooting happened on July 2 at a home on Lewis Farm Road in Shannon, deputies said. The injured person was taken to the hospital before deputies arrived and has since been released.

    No additional details about the incident were available from authorities. The sheriff’s office is investigating, along with the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives.
