MAYFIELD, N.Y. ( NEWS10 ) — Crews responded to Adirondack Harley-Davidson on Bellen Road in Mayfield on Thursday around 8:15 p.m. for reports of a fire. Once there, crews found heavy smoke was in and coming out of the roof of the building, said Fulton County Emergency Management.

Using a thermal imaging camera, firefighters were able to locate the fire. Officials said a motorcycle was on fire in one of the service bays. They extinguished the fire and began ventilating the smoke out of the building.

While investigating, Fulton County Emergency Management looked at surveillance cameras which showed the motorcycle catch on fire. Harley Davidson staff said the motorcycle had been brought in for repairs, likely an electrical issue.

The official cause of the fire was ruled as accidental. The Fulton County Sheriff’s Office said this fire was not arson and was unrelated to the other fires that had been set in Broadalbin over the last few days.

Adirondack Harley-Davidson sustained fire damage to the service bay and the entire building sustained heavy smoke and soot damage, said Fulton County Emergency Management. On Facebook, Adirondack Harley-Davidson thanked all of the crews that responded to the fire. The store will be closed on Friday and Saturday as they assess the damages.
