Kershaw accepts nearly $5.9 million in state grants
The Kershaw Town Council approved four resolutions accepting a variety of state grants for which the town has recently been awarded. In addition to the grants, the town received $1.2 million in this year’s state budget to replace the Hamel Street sewer pump station. Together, the state assistance received by the town totals $5,896,062.

Richard Jones, 79, died on Sunday, June 16, 2024 in Camden, SC. The son of the late Laurence and Marjorie Jones was raised by his grandparents Fletcher and Twila. Richard, a 31-year veteran of the Des Moines Police Department, retired in 2000. He served in the US Navy during Vietnam; later serving in the Iowa Air National Guard. Richard was an avid war history enthusiast, a novice numismatist, and a passionate genealogist.
