The Golden Bachelorette: A New Journey Begins

Bachelor Nation on ABC has released a promotional video for their upcoming Golden Bachelorette (GBtte) season, which will premiere on September 18th.

The video opens with GBtte (Joan Vassos) preparing a Sunday dinner with two older ladies. One of the women says to Joan, “I can’t believe you are the first GBtte!”

“I know, it’s crazy,” replies Joan. Then, one by one, Joan's children walk in to hugs and warm reunions. Joan warns the family that she is going to have to kiss a lot of men on the show— “I wasn’t expecting that!” one exclaims.

It made me wonder what were they expecting?

At the dinner table things turn serious as Joan assures her children that she is not looking to replace their dad—she just wants to make the family whole again. She goes on to explain she is looking for a gentleman, someone with a big heart, and generous.

ABC is looking to capitalize on the success of last year's Golden Bachelor season. The 61-year-old Vossos was a cast member in last season's show before she had to leave for personal reasons.

The video concludes with Joan making a toast to her family, thanking them for all their support. In addition to airing on ABC, The Golden Bachelorette will also stream on Hulu.
