4 Supermarket Chains Expanding in Texas: Here is Where

According to the US Census Bureau, Texas is the second most populated state in the US, with California being first. The Lone Star State has some 30.5 million residents (2023 numbers). That's a lot of mouths to feed! Given these huge numbers, it's no surprise that new grocery stores are popping up throughout the state. Here are several that are in the works:

Sprouts Farmers Market:

• McKinney, 2201 Virginia Parkway—Opening, September 6
• New Braunfels, 275 Creekside Crossing—Projected opening, March 2025

Trader Joe’s:

• Coppell, 120 S Denton Tap Rd
• Sugar Land, 13550 University Blvd

The only indication on timing for the TJ’s locations is this from their website.

• Dallas, Camp Wisdom and Westmoreland roads—Projected Opening, November 2025

WinCo Foods:

• Wichita Falls, Lawrence Rd.—-Projected opening, July 2025
