    McKinney crowned most affordable city in U.S.

    MCKINNEY (KDAF) — Hey, McKinney residents! Did you know your city just snagged the title of the most affordable place to live in the United States? According to a new analysis by The Motley Fool , McKinney stands out for its combination of high median income and low cost of living.

    The report compared median household incomes to cost-of-living data across hundreds of cities nationwide. McKinney came out on top with a median household income of $113,286 and a cost-of-living estimate of $70,778—well above the national average!

    The data comes from the Council for Community and Economic Research’s 2024 Q1 Annual Average Cost of Living Index Report, Bureau of Labor Statistics’ 2023 Consumer Expenditure Survey and Census Bureau’s 2023 American Community Survey.

    So, if you live in Mckinney, it’s time to celebrate your city’s recognition! And if you’re curious, here are the top 10 most affordable cities in the U.S. (according to The Motley Fool):
