Teen dirt-bike rider fatally struck Big Lake woman on pedestrian path, troopers say
A 79-year-old Big Lake woman has died, after Alaska State Troopers say she was struck by a dirt bike being illegally driven on a pedestrian path. Troopers say the crash was reported around 4:30 p.m. Monday near Big Lake. Nadara Williams was taken to a hospital but died the next day, according to a trooper dispatch.

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU/Gray News) - A former Anchorage pastor is facing a federal charge of assault after allegedly hitting his wife in the head during a flight. According to a criminal complaint, Roger Allan Holmberg Sr. was being disruptive when he hit his wife during a July 2 flight between Seattle and Anchorage.

Two months after announcing purchasing arrangements, Contango completes acquisition of HighGold
FAIRBANKS, Alaska (KTVF) - Fairbanks-based mining company Contango ORE announced Wednesday that it has completed the acquisition of HighGold Mining. The deal, reportedly costing Contango about $37 million, gives the Fairbanks company control of the 21,000-acre Johnson Tract southwest of Anchorage. That tract contains the JT Deposit, HighGold’s “flagship” asset, which has gold, zinc, copper and silver deposits.
