PITTSBURGH, Pa. (KDKA) -- Pittsburgh Public Schools leaders are considering closing more than a dozen schools as part of a proposed consolidation plan. United Way Helping Kids Get School Supplies
The United Way of Southwestern Pennsylvania will begin getting school supplies ready today for a number of students across the area. Around 150 volunteers will be unloading and sorting school supplies today to distribute to 30 school districts in the five-county Pittsburgh region. Officials say around 10,000 students in kindergarten through 2nd grade will receive the school supplies.

Once again, Duquesne will be playing a game at Saint Vincent-Saint Mary High School, where Dukes’ head coach Dru Joyce III played alongside LeBron James. Back to school: Experts stress student safety
PITTSBURGH — Propel Hazelwood welcomed kindergartners back to the classroom on Thursday morning with the rest of the students set to join them on Friday.
