Women from Massachusetts, New Jersey killed in Southern Maryland crash
Two women died Wednesday afternoon in a crash in Charles County, according to Maryland State Police. Norma Matthews, 81, of Lowell, Massachusetts, and Virginia Licata, 86, of Blackwood, New Jersey, died as a result of a crash around 1:45 p.m. Wednesday on U.S. Route 301 at Popes Creek Road in Faulkner.

Mimi’s Handmade Ice Cream is Coming to Clarksburg
Mimi’s Handmade ice cream is coming to Clarksburg Premium Outlets, taking over the location that was recently home to Melt Cafe and Gelato Bar next to Starbucks. This will be Mimi’s Handmade’s fifth location overall and third in Montgomery County with current locations in Rockville’s Federal Plaza and inside The Heights Food Hall in Chevy Chase. An opening date is not yet available for the Clarksburg Outlets location, but signage is now up in the windows of the store (photo below).
REDI Announces New Chair of Board of Directors
Rockville Economic Development, Inc. (REDI) has appointed Nancy Regelin as the new Chair of the Board of Directors, effective July 1, 2024. Nancy, who has been on REDI’s Board since 2010 and served as Vice Chair since 2020, also chairs the Maryland Women’s Business Center Advisory Board.
