Mimi’s Handmade Ice Cream is Coming to Clarksburg
Mimi’s Handmade ice cream is coming to Clarksburg Premium Outlets, taking over the location that was recently home to Melt Cafe and Gelato Bar next to Starbucks. This will be Mimi’s Handmade’s fifth location overall and third in Montgomery County with current locations in Rockville’s Federal Plaza and inside The Heights Food Hall in Chevy Chase. An opening date is not yet available for the Clarksburg Outlets location, but signage is now up in the windows of the store (photo below).
REDI Announces New Chair of Board of Directors
Rockville Economic Development, Inc. (REDI) has appointed Nancy Regelin as the new Chair of the Board of Directors, effective July 1, 2024. Nancy, who has been on REDI’s Board since 2010 and served as Vice Chair since 2020, also chairs the Maryland Women’s Business Center Advisory Board. Takoma Park Police are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying five individuals involved in a strong-arm robbery in the early morning of July 21. At around 4:29 a.m. on July 21, Takoma Park Police responded to the area of New Hampshire Avenue and Larch Avenue for a reported strong-arm robbery. According to police spokesperson Cathy Plevy, the victim was sitting at the bus stop when five unknown suspects approached the victim and assaulted him, and one of them stole money from his pocket.

Maryland added 5,600 total jobs in June, including 3,900 in the private sector, according to monthly data released recently by the U.S. Department of Labor’s Bureau of Labor Statistics.
