William Shatner had some fun ribbing Steve Doocy after the Fox & Friends co-host called the Star Trek star the wrong name.

Shatner joined Fox & Friends on Wednesday to promote his new Fox Nation series Aliens Among Us and while discussing the project, Doocy threw out the wrong name asking a question, calling Shatner “Jim.” While it appeared to be a flub referring to Shatner as his most famous character, James T. Kirk from Stark Trek, co-host Ainsley Earhardt quickly defended Doocy saying he had just recorded a birthday message for a Jim.

“Well, Jim — rather, William, you — I was thinking about —” Doocy began, trying to correct himself.

“William will do. Don’t live in the past,” Shatner said.

“He just did a birthday message for a Jim!” Earhardt responded.

“What do you want to know, Dick? Dick, what do you want to know?” Shatner joked as the hosts laughed.

Brian Kilmeade then cut to a clip from the series in which Shatner discussed his role on Star Trek, his own journey to space, and whether aliens are actually real.

“James T. Kirk, William Shatner, what do you think?” Doocy asked after the clip.

“I think there are aliens among us and you may represent one. We don’t know that!” Shatner responded.

The actor said his show examines evidence out there, but it does not draw specific conclusions and instead asks larger questions about life beyond this planet.

“The mystery of life, we’re all tuned into. There’s no specificity. We don’t say, hey, here’s a piece of spaceship, but there are rumors the government has reverse-engineered things they’ve found, debris they’ve found that they think come from spaceships,” he said. “But the mystery is why haven’t they landed on the White House ground and said, here we are and we got to stop the wars and the squabbling. There’s bigger things than that out there.”
