‘I Consider Us the Underdog’: Kamala Harris Holds Rare Gaggle With Reporters, Weighs in On Polls

While campaigning in Pennsylvania on Sunday, Kamala Harris answered questions from a reporter during a bus tour.

Former President Donald Trump has recently criticized Harris for not taking questions from reporters or hosting a press conference since announcing her bid for the presidency following Biden’s departure from the race.

However, while campaigning on a bus stop on Sunday just a day before the DNC convention , Harris fielded multiple questions including whether she believes her campaign is the underdog in the race against Trump.

Polling has shown Harris has closed the lead once held by Trump and is leading in multiple key swing states.

REPORTER: Madam vice president, CBS news has a new poll shows that you’re up three points nationally. What’s your response to this? Do you consider yourself the underdog here?

HARRIS: I very much consider us the underdog. We have a lot of work to do to earn the vote of the American people. That’s why we’re on this bus tour today, and we’re going to be traveling this country as we’ve been and talking with folks, listening to folks, and hopefully earning their votes over the next 79 days.
