Burlington woman arrested for drug possession
Burlington, IA- The Des Moines County Sheriff’s Office has announced the arrest of a Burlington woman for possession of a controlled substance. According to a news release, at about 9:03 PM Tuesday, July 16th, Des Moines County Deputies stopped a vehicle for an equipment violation at Central Avenue and Columbia Street in Burlington.

City: RAGBRAI Arrives Next Week
According to the City of Ottumwa, the riders of RAGBRAI LI will arrive next Thursday for an overnight stay. On July 25, the riders will arrive into town from Rock Bluff Road, onto Blackhawk Road, turning onto North Quincy Avenue, and ride the trail behind the Ottumwa 8 Theater to arrive at the Greater Ottumwa Park. Campers will be available for the participants on both sides of the park.

One Injured in Galesburg Shooting
On Tuesday, July 16 at approximately 1:26 AM, Galesburg Police responded to a report of a shooting victim at 310 Indiana Ave. Upon arrival, the victim, identified as Brett Swise, was located with three gunshot wounds. Officers provided life saving measures and medical personnel responded to the scene. Swise, age 31, was transported to St. Mary’s ER and then to St. Francis where he is receiving treatment for his injuries.
