One of the highlights of the Minnesota State Fair are the daily musical performances on stages all over the fairground, day and night. The Minneapolis duo known as iLLism joined MPR News host Cathy Wurzer to talk about being married and making music together, their long performing career and the show they are hosting Tuesday afternoon at the fair that honors the sounds of Minneapolis.
Bloomington's Favorite Gyropolis Set to Triple in Size with New Expansion by October
For the fans of Mediterranean cuisine in Bloomington, there's a savory update on the horizon. The beloved Gyropolis is on the cusp of unveiling its ambitious expansion plan. The Greek eatery is well-regarded for its adherence to family recipes and use of organic ingredients. Their expansion progress is reported to have reached the final stages at its 2325 W. 90th St. location.

Wildlife rehab center takes in hundreds of critters injured in storms
ROSEVILLE, Minn. – It wasn't just trees falling during the severe storms earlier this week; nests came down, too. The Wildlife Rehabilitation Center admitted 245 new animals on Tuesday and Wednesday alone. Many were baby squirrels and birds. "Storms definitely increase our patient admins for a number of reasons, but this time of year we're at peak second-litter squirrel, season. So the storms were knocking a lot of baby squirrels out of trees and a lot of our fledgling songbirds out of trees," medical director Dr. Renee Schott said. Brooklyn Park Pet Hospital to host microchip clinic
Brooklyn Park Pet Hospital is hosting a microchipping event for pets and pet owners. The service ensures that dogs and cats can be easily identified and returned to their owners if they go missing. Pre-registration is required. If an owner wants multiple animals microchipped, they should reserve one slot per pet. Organizers say the procedure is quick and easy and will be performed by trained staff of the Brooklyn Park Pet Hospital. The service will cost $20 per pet.
