When Nikhita Steward-Trivedi searched for academic programs this summer, the University of Wisconsin-Madison’s Accelerated Learning Program (ALP) caught their eye. Steward-Trivedi —who has Goltz syndrome, causing vision and mobility impairments — saw the three-week summer intensive as an opportunity to pursue their career goals and a place where it would be easier to receive accommodations for their disability, in their mother Lina Steward-Trivedi’s view.
Wisconsin athletic director believes former Badger RB should be NCAA all-time leading rusher
Wisconsin athletic director Chris McIntosh strongly believes Badger legend Ron Dayne should be the NCAA’s all-time rushing leader. He explained his thinking in a recent appearance on WOZN’s Zach Heilprin’s podcast “The Camp.” The NCAA considers former San Diego State running back Donnel Pumphrey as the career leader in rushing yards with 6,405. The kicker: Dayne’s spectacular outputs in bowl games are not recognized by the NCAA. The NCAA first recognized bowl statistics in 2002, three years after Dayne departed Madison. Thursday’s Northwoods League slate featured a doubleheader between the #1 Mankato Habaneros and the #2 Madison Night Mares. The Madison Night Mares lit up the scoreboard early scoring six runs in the second to help run up the score on the Mankato Habaneros 12-6. Mia Johnson (University of Wisconsin-Parkside) went 2-for-4 scoring once with a double and two RBI. Hilary Blomberg (University of Wisconsin-Madison) went 2-for-5 scoring once with a double, one stolen base, and one RBI. Addie Blomberg (South Dakota State University) went 2-for-3 scoring once with one RBI and two stolen bases. Haley Remington (University of Wisconsin-Parkside) went 3-for-5 scoring twice with two RBI and one stolen base. Brooke Holmes (St. Cloud State University) went 1-for-3 with a double and two RBI. Jessa Snippes (University of Minnesota) went 1-for-4 with a solo home run.
