WISCONSIN RAPIDS, Wis. (WSAW) - The Wisconsin Rapids Rafters celebrated Independence Day with a victory on Thursday, taking down Madison 12-4 at Witter Field. The Mallards scored first in the first inning before adding another run in the second. From there, the Rafters took over. The Rafters scored their first run in the second before a third inning on a three-run home run by Max McGwire. MADISON, Wis. – Brookfield Central and Brookfield Academy captured State Team Boys Tennis Championships Saturday at the Nielsen Tennis Stadium on the campus of UW-Madison. The top-seeded Lancers (25-2) won team championship with a 4-3 win over second-seeded Marquette (22-3) in the Division 1 championship match. Brookfield Central won all four singles matches.
