Man found in Meeker County ditch after being stabbed, hit by driver

Meeker County officials say they are investigating after a man was found in a ditch having been struck by a driver and stabbed.

According to the Meeker County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a report of a man on the side of the road on 600th Avenue near 230th Street in Litchfield Township just after 5 p.m. Friday.

At the scene, deputies found a man in the ditch with stab wounds and injuries consistent with being hit by a vehicle.

The man, identified as a 50-year-old from Olivia, was taken first to Meeker Memorial Hospital and then to Hennepin County Medical Center with serious injuries.

A suspect vehicle was also found. The sheriff’s office says the incident was a targeted attack and that it is pursuing multiple suspects.
