Ford's Garage opening its first Brevard location this week in Viera. Here's when it opens

The restaurant where “great food meets vintage vibes” is opening its first Brevard location this week.

Ford’s Garage will open its doors Friday in Viera. The restaurant is known for its American cuisine, especially burgers and brews, and its 1920s-themed garage décor.

“Guests are going to see a lot of unique things when they come in, a lot of unique things that represent the auto industry,” General Manager Tony Brown said. “We’re also really focused on being involved in the community. We want to be the best restaurant in Viera.”

Where is Ford’s Garage located in Viera?

The address is 5480 Lake Andrew Drive.

It’s in a booming area off Viera Blvd. just west of Interstate 95.

Aside from Ford’s Garage, Venezia Wine Bar recently opened and construction continues on Olive Tree Greek Grill. A nearby CVS also recently opened and two hotels are coming to the neighborhood: Homewood Suites Viera-Melbourne and Hilton Garden Inn.

Community represented in Burgers of Fame Board in Viera

Ford’s Garage is making sure the community is part of the restaurant with a Burgers of Fame Board. Restaurant representatives identified 12 community leaders and named burgers after them.

Some of the well-known figures you might recognize include Sheriff Wayne Ivey, Principal of Viera Charter School Julie Cady and longtime CEO of the Brevard Zoo Keith Winston. There are even a few places honored.

Winston, who happens to love burgers, said the Burgers of Fame is a wonderful way for the restaurant to connect with the community.

“It’s fitting they picked a bison burger for me because bison were on the edge of extinction when they were saved by the Bronx Zoo,” Winston told FLORIDA TODAY. “It also happens to be very healthy and tastes delicious. I’m excited to get in there and try my burger.”

Burger options include toppings like peanut butter, a sunny-side up egg and bacon jam. If you’re craving something else, there’s several different kinds of mac and cheese, wings, salads, sandwiches and more.

There’s 40 beers and wines on tap, as well as a full bar.

The space and décor is modeled after a 1920s garage.

There are old-time gas pumps on display, vintage cars out front and mechanical parts scattered about - even in the bathrooms. The bathroom sinks are set in car tires and the faucets (as well as the door handles) are gas pump nozzles.

Shop towels used in garages (don’t worry – they are new, clean ones) are used as napkins. They are wrapped up with a hose clamp.

The centerpiece of the restaurant is a 1929 Ford hanging from the ceiling at the center of the bar. Roughly every 30 minutes, exhaust will dispense from the car, its headlights will turn on and its horn will sound.

What’s the history of Ford’s Garage?

The first restaurant opened in 2012 in Fort Myers, less than a mile from Henry Ford’s winter home. As an official licensee of the Ford Motor Company, the restaurant pays tribute to the American automobile brand.

Ford’s Garage is located in eight states. There are more than 20 restaurants in Florida.
