Firefighters from Lake County Fire Rescue and officials from Duke Energy rapidly responded to a transformer fire in Grand Island Sunday evening, an incident that led to a power outage affecting nearly 10,000 homes. An additional fire at a nearby cell phone tower further complicated the emergency services' response. According to a statement obtained by the Lake County, the first fire was reported at approximately 6:44 p.m., with crews arriving on the scene within ten minutes.
