As Melville office managing partner, Carolyn Mazzenga is responsible for overseeing the growth of Marcum’s Long Island operations. She also heads the Long Island tax department and serves on the firm’s executive committee.

A trusted business advisor, Mazzenga assists clients in wealth preservation and succession planning. She also provides personal and business income tax solutions for high-net-worth individuals and their families, with a concentration on investment managers.

Leveraging her distinction in the women’s business community, Mazzenga was instrumental in launching the Marcum Women’s Leadership Development Program, a cutting-edge initiative to help promote and nourish the careers of the firm’s female managers and partners. Currently, she serves on the firm’s national diversity, equity and inclusion committee. She also chairs the annual Marcum Workplace Challenge, the largest event of its kind on Long Island, which has raised more than $1.2 million for community nonprofit organizations since 2006.

A recognized industry leader named among the most powerful women in accounting by several publications, Mazzenga has authored numerous articles and speaks before professional organizations on tax, estate and succession planning topics. She also has been quoted in several publications on work-life balance, flexible scheduling and women’s initiatives. In recognition of her work in the community, Mazzenga has been awarded the Long Island Association Humanitarian Award. Other accolades include a Midas Award for Corporate Accounting and inclusion in LIBN’s Top 50 Women in Business on Long Island.

A certified public accountant, Mazzenga operated her own accounting practice and worked for a Big Four firm before joining Marcum in 1991.
