Wrong way I-69 crash results in critical injuries
A head-on collision last night on I-69 in Capac resulting in critical injuries to a wrong-way driver. Police were called on reports of light-colored sedan driving in the wrong direction on Westbound I-69 near the Capac Road exit began coming in just before 10 pm. A short time later, the vehicle reportedly collided with a pick-up truck hauling a recreation trailer, east of the exit. The driver of the sedan was extricated by local fire crews and airlifted to an Ann Arbor area hospital with reports of serious injuries to both legs. They were last known to be in critical condition. The truck’s driver declined on-site medical treatment. The crash forced a closure of westbound I-69 and one lane of the eastbound span during rescue, clean-up, and investigation.
Missing Sanilac County woman found safe after 24 hours
SANILAC COUNTY, Mich. (WJRT) - The search for a missing 74-year-old woman with Alzheimer's disease reached a happy ending in the village of Forestville Monday. Family members reported that Sharron Perkins was last seen walking away from her residence around 10 a.m. Sunday. Several police and fire crews from the Thumb region responded to launch a search Sunday.

Marlette man pleads guilty to OWI, fleeing from police in Tuscola County
A Marlette man pleaded guilty in Tuscola County Circuit Court last Monday for operating while intoxicated and fleeing from police in the fourth degree. 30-year-old Nathan William Ross was arrested by the Tuscola County Sheriff’s Office earlier this year on April 21, and arraigned on three charges in the county’s district court on June 6, 2024.
