Memphis Made to Close Original Cooper-Young Location After Opening New Edge District Site

Last year, Memphis Made Brewing Co. announced plans to open a second site . Now, the popular craft brewery is set to close its original Cooper-Young location and consolidate all operations into the upcoming Downtown brewery at 435 Madison Ave .

Although the exact date has yet to be set, Memphis Made co-owners Andy Ashby and Drew Barton took to social media to share the news.

“In case you haven’t heard, we are opening our new taproom in the Edge District in late July,” the duo stated. “We will be closing our Cooper Young location in mid-July. We’ll announce specific dates soon.”

Memphis Made began production in Cooper-Young in 2013 and opened the original taproom in 2014. Since early 2023, the company has been brewing at its Edge District facility, which has facilitated expanded distribution across Tennessee, Missouri, and North Mississippi.

The upcoming 5,000-square-foot taproom will feature views overlooking the Ravine, a park-like public space designed for community activities and artistic events. Renowned for hosting diverse gatherings like Pickleball 901 pop-ups, Paint Memphis installations, and 901 Day festivities, the Ravine will expand its event offerings after the taproom debuts.

“We’ve needed a larger brewery for years and this one will allow us to grow and produce even more styles of beer,” Ashby told The Daily Memphian . “The new taproom will let us continue our mission of educating people about beer and making a positive impact on our city.”
