Another Downtown Memphis restaurant is closing its doors — at least until fall.

On Wednesday, Bishop , located at 545 S. Main St. in Central Station Hotel, announced it would be closing on Sunday, July 7. The closure will be temporary as Central Station rolls out a new restaurant concept in the ground-floor space.

In an announcement on Bishop's Facebook page, McLean Wilson of Kemmons Wilson Companies said:

“Though it’s bittersweet to close Bishop, we’re pumped about evolving our world-class dining and cocktail programs with an awesome new concept. Huge thanks to Andy Ticer, Michael Hudman, the South Main Arts District, and all of Memphis for the love and support. Your encouragement fuels our journey into this next chapter.”

Bishop opened in 2019 . The French restaurant was operated by chefs Andy Ticer and Michael Hudman. The culinary pair operate the Enjoy A|M Restaurant Group, which oversees Catherine & Mary's in Downtown Memphis along with Hog & Hominy and Andrew Michael Italian Kitchen in East Memphis.

The new concept is expected to have affordable and approachable items and will offer weekly amenities, according to a news release. Additionally, Central Station Hotel's Eight & Sand bar and lounge will continue normal operations. Eight & Sand is located on the second floor of the hotel and adjacent to the main entrance.

Memphis-based Kemmons Wilsons Companies handles leasing for the Central Station property. The hotel was renovated in 2015 by Henry Turley Co. and Archie Willis.
