Two teens injured in shooting at Raleigh apartment complex

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Two teenagers were shot inside a Raleigh apartment complex over the weekend, police say.

Police were called to the Walden Pointe Apartments just off Raleigh Millington Road on Sunday afternoon. One victim was rushed to the hospital in an ambulance, while another victim was taken by private vehicle.

A 15-year-old struck in the hand managed to make his way back home, where his mom called for help.

He was rushed to the hospital, while the driver of a silver Mercedes Benz dropped off an 18-year-old hit in the arm.

As it turns out, a silver Benz is the same car an eyewitness says was involved in the initial attack. This means one of the victims could also be a suspect.

Police say at least one person was detained. Detectives also say several guns were collected, along with spent shell casings.

We went to the apartment, where we know at least one victim went for help. Those inside the unit say everyone is expected to be okay.

What’s not okay, according to those like Raleigh resident Sylvester Stokes, is what he considers to be a revolving door of violence.

“You have to watch your back,” said Stokes.

That’s exactly what the property manager, Michelle West, told us off-camera, is being done.

West says a neighborhood watch is in effect to rid this community of crime.
