Man allegedly chokeslams 9-year-old, fires shots at home with 5 kids

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A man is behind bars after Memphis Police say he assaulted his girlfriend and her nine-year-old, then fired shots at a home with multiple kids inside.

Alcus Shell, 40, is charged with Aggravated Assault/Domestic Violence, seven counts of Aggravated Assault and Vandalism $1,000 or less.

His bond is set at $60,000.

On January 28, officers responded to an incident in the 4200 block of Ridgestone Drive.

The victim stated Shell slapped her and hit her multiple times with a broomstick. He then allegedly slammed her 9-year-old son to the floor and choked him.

According to reports, Shell went outside to get a gun, kicked in the door, and fired shots at the home. Two adults and five minors were inside. No one was struck.

The shooting damaged a $50 chair, a $50 table and a $150 door frame.

Alcus Shel is set to appear in court on Tuesday morning.
