    Fun weekend events happening in Memphis

    MEMPHIS, Tenn. — It’s finally Friday and you know what that means! It’s time to take a look at several of the events happening all across the greater Memphis area this weekend.

    The Memphis Redbirds will be playing games at Autozone Park all this weekend against the Iowa Cubs Each night you have a chance to get some free swag. Friday, the first 1,500 fans get a Redbirds rope hat. Saturday’s giveaway is a Redbirds basketball jersey. Sunday is free ice cream for all the kids.

    Friday night, you can help support Merci Memphis Counseling Center at the art exhibit Bridging the Gap . The show is at their office on Overton Park Avenue from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.Saturday, you have a chance to meet the artist, Angela Myers, during Artist Talk from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m.

    Saturday there is a free R&B Festival at the Southland Casino. Gates open at noon. There will be food trucks as well as an air-conditioned tent for you to cool off.

    Also Saturday, there is a city-wide talent show and community bash . This will be at Overton Park Shell from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. And of course, there are big prizes, with the first-place winner getting $1,000.

    Afterward, check out the largest Asian food festival in Memphis. This is from 3 p.m. until 11 p.m. at Tiger Lane in Liberty Park. Tickets are $10.

    Sunday, you can hear about the musicians buried in Memphis’ historic Elmwood Cemetery . Hear their stories while also hearing the amazing music they created from 2 p.m. until 3 p.m. in the chapel. Tickets are $20.
