MEMPHIS, Tenn. — One of two juvenile defendants accused in the interstate shooting of a father and his four children last month faced a court hearing Friday.

All four defendants, including the two juveniles, are being held on $1 million bonds, the district attorney’s office said Friday.

The juvenile, who was detained on June 24, is charged with Attempted First Degree Murder (7 counts), Carjacking (4 counts), Aggravated Robbery (7 counts), various firearm-related offenses, and Reckless Endangerment (3 counts).

D.A. Steve Mulroy’s office says they filed a notice to transfer the case to criminal court.

The names and ages of the juveniles have not been released by authorities.

Lorenzo Watson and Kendrick Ray , ages 18 and 21, appeared in court earlier this week. Their cases will proceed to a Grand Jury for indictment.

Police have blamed road rage for the shooting on June 11 on Interstate 240 near Poplar .

A police affidavit states that the victims’ Chevy Malibu tried to merge onto Interstate 240 from the Mount Moriah Road exit, but were blocked by a Mitsubishi SUV that refused to allow them to merge.
